Day 1: Welcome to Nairobi, Kenya

VIP fast track at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA), Nairobi – gateway to your adventure safari in Kenya; transfer you to Hemingways Nairobi Hotel a sumptuous haven of calm, built on an old coffee plantation at the foot of the Ngong Hills.

Hemingways Nairobi is ideally placed for you to explore Nairobi excursions – perhaps you can have Option visits to Giraffe Centre – get up close to view giraffes as well as feed and touch them, visit David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage – watch in close up the nurture and feeding of orphaned elephants and adopt an orphan or visit Karen Blixen Museum -beautiful farmhouse where Karen Blixen, author of “Out of Africa” lived. Or you might simply feel like relaxing at the Hotel, where you can wander the bird-filled gardens, dip in the pool, take afternoon tea on the terrace or sip cocktails in the Hemingways Bar awaiting tomorrows adventure.

Day 2: Nairobi & Amboseli National Park

Morning breakfast and safari briefing at the Hotel by our representative, private ground transfer to – Nairobi Wilson Airport, gateway to flying safaris in Kenya. Board your private direct flight to Amboseli National Park, located at the foot of snowcapped Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. Arrive Amboseli Tortilis Camp, enjoy your lunch with beautiful views of Mount Kilimanjaro. The opulent thatched tents of Tortilis Camp, your Amboseli base, nestle in a private conservancy, gazing across Kilimanjaro. Day 3: Amboseli National Park

Set your alarm early for the morning game viewing drive. This is when the plains stir, the animals are most active, the big cats are returning from a night of hunting. These are also the golden hours for
photographers, as dawn light rose-tints the savannah and Kilimanjaro is most likely to be free of cloud. A lavish breakfast, devoured out in the bush, more than makes up for the 5am start.

Head out for afternoon game viewing drive for more encounters – maybe elephants up- close, giraffes drinking at the waterholes and raptors swooping above. Or stride out on a walking safari for a fresh and exhilarating perspective: follow animal tracks, taste bush herbs, meet the Small Five and be amazed by the antics of insects, while completely (but safely) exposed to the bush. As the day draws to a close, proceed for African scenic Sundowners in the bush while Private dinner awaits you at the camp.

Day 4: Amboseli National Park & Loisaba Conservancy, Laikipia, Kenya

Start your day with early morning game viewing drive, one last chance to see Amboseli’s Big cats, Big herds or Big drama. Transfer to the airstrip for a seamless and spectacular diirect flight to Loisaba Conservancy located in the Laikipia Plateau. With the second-highest density of wildlife and a groundbreaking attitude to conservation, this is one of the most exciting destinations in Kenya.

Upon arrival at Loisaba, Laikipia, you’ll be met like a VIP and transfered from airstrip with game viewing enroute to Loisaba Tented Camp. Day 5: Loisaba Conservancy, Laikipia

Loisaba Tented Camp offers excellent choice of activities which includes; game viewing drives, cultural visit to Samburu village, guided bush walk, horse and camel safari, lion tracking, mountain bicking, fishing ( seasonal), visit to the Conservancy Headquarters and anti-poaching sniffer dogs. Whatever the activity you pick, the choice is yours. Follow it up with breakfast in the bush and a rejuvenating pamper in the spa. Linger over lunch on the deck before your final afternoon game drive: Loisaba is an important migration area for Laikipia’s huge elephant population, so excellent sightings are frequent; unusual species such as greater kudu and beisa oryx are found here too.

Day 6: Loisaba Conservancy, Laikipia & Masai Mara National Reserve

Breakfast at Loisaba Tented Camp, proceed to Loisaba’s airstrip game viewing enroute in this astonishing wilderness. Board your SkySafari flight and prepare to touch down in an African icon: the matchless Masai Mara National Reserve.

Your ride from the airstrip to Sand River Masai Mara Camp, a secluded spot in the southern area of reserve, is your first game drive: don’t be surprised if you meet most of the Big Five before lunch. Even if you don’t, your afternoon game drive might oblige: these acacia-dotted plains are dense with game. Keep your eyes peeled for lion, leopard and cheetah, hyena, giraffe and elephant, and 500-plus species of bird.

Day 7: Masai Mara National Reserve

Early morning breakfast at the Camp, set off with packed Picnic hamper lunch served in the bush for full day game viewing drive, so you can delve deeper into Masai Mara National Reserve. Sand River Masai Mara, sits right on the annual migration route, so the drama may play out just beyond your verandah while Dinner is served under the stars, while you’ll be listening to the calls of the wild.

Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant than Masai Mara. While the seasonal migration period (July to September) of two million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle crossing from the Serengeti is one of Mother Nature’s greatest spectacles, the profusion of wildlife in the Mara – from 450 species of bird to the Big Five which makes it one of the best safari spots year round.

Day 8: Masai Mara & Serengeti National Park

Morning breakfast at the camp and relax at leisure while you enjoy your last few hours, gazing out from camp across the watercourse and riverine forest, looking out for wildlife and birds. Transfer to the airstrip for your direct flight to Kisumu and clear the Kenyan Customs. Fly from Kisumu to Musoma to clear the Tanzania Customs. Fly from Musoma to Lobo or Seronera, Serengeti (depending on the season). Transfer to your Serengeti Camp game viewing en-route arriving in time for lunch.

Depending on the season of the year, you will transfered to the luxurious bygone- style tents of Serengeti Pioneer Camp, perched on a kopje in the south of the park. As well as being renowned for its immense wildebeest herds, the area is rich in prehistoric paintings while nearby Lake Magadi is popular with flamingos.

Alternatively, you will be transfered to the sophisticated stilted tents of Serengeti Migration Camp, further north. This peaceful part of the park sees few other visitors; you’ll feel you’ve arrived in your own private wilderness. The variety of wildlife here is remarkable, the drama intense – especially when the Great Migration passes through: the camp is perfectly placed for watching the herds run the gauntlet of the Grumeti River.

Either way, your first afternoon’s game drive will be a wildlife revelation while dinner is taken at the camp.

Day 9: Serengeti National Park

Breakfast at the camp, proceed for game viewing drive to watch the most dramatic scene of Serengeti and witness the pinnacle of the Great Migration, when more than a million animals cross the northern rivers. The Serengeti Migration Camp sits on their route, so you barely need travel at all to catch a life-or-death crossing. Also nearby are hippo-filled pools – you can hear their grunts and chortles from camp.

To maximise your wild time, we’ll dish up a delicious lunch on the go, while, come nightfall, dinner will be served out under the stars, to a backing track of the sounds of the bush.

Day 10: Serengeti National Park

Early morning breakfast at the camp, proceed for full day exploring Serengeti National Park with picnic hamper lunch served in the bush. If your accommodation is at Serengeti Pioneer Camp, this means you might witness the replenishing of the Serengeti’s mighty herds: each year, 400,000 wildebeest calves are born in the park’s south, a staggering number, which draws many predators.

Big Cats are a particular pleasure around Serengeti Pioneer Camp. Lions love to sun-bask on the rocks of Moru Kopje (where Masai paintings can also be seen). Also, the camp supports the Serengeti Cheetah Project, and talks by experts will introduce you to the local cats, and help you identify them when you’re scanning the plains.

After a full, fabulous day, it’s time to raise for a final Sundowners in the bush, as the light softens, the earth cools, the horizon glows. Enjoy your dinner back at the camp.

Day 11: Serengeti National Park & Lake Manyara

Enjoy your morning breakfast at the camp while relaxing at leisure, proceed to Serengeti Airstrip game viewing en-route. Fly to Lake Manyara Airstrip, proceed for game viewing drive to Africa’s lovelist Park – Lake Manyara National Park and stay until lunch, so you can have picnic lunch by the water’s edge. It’s certainly varied, attracting an astounding mix of life, from bushbuck and blue monkeys in the forests to tree-climbing lions in the acacia woods; from cheetah stalking antelopes on the grasslands to hippos wallowing in the mud. Most dazzling, though, is the flamboyance of flamingos – hundreds of the blushing birds flock here, along with more than 400 other avian species.

Drive back to The Manor at Ngorongoro, to spend the rest of your afternoon at leisure. Take a dip in the pool, book a treatment in the spa or join a guided walk around the coffee estate. Or you could head out on horseback, to get a different perspective on these verdant highlands, finishing with a Sundowner, of course. Top the day off with dinner in the elegant dining room, always a culinary delight.

Day 12: Ngorongoro Crater

Early morning breakfast at the lodge, drive to Ngorongoro Crater the ‘eighth wonder of the world’ and spend the full day in Ngorongoro Crater measuring over 20km wide and 600m deep. Ngorongoro Crater is a natural volcanic amphitheatre, a geological marvel, a festival of wildlife. Its acacia thickets, riverine forest and glittering lakes throng with around 30,000 animals: one of the highest densities of wildlife in Africa. Safaris here can be overwhelming, in the very best way. Its vast cast of characters: lions, elephants and buffalo, cheetah and serval cats, hyena, jackal and black rhino.
